I have wanted lip injections for as long as I can remember, no shame in my game! But y’all, I am TERRIFIED of needles. Growing up, my mom would physically have to sit on me for me to get a shot at the doctor. It’s bad. I hate getting shots that I need, so the thought of willingly putting myself in close contact with a needle on a spot as sensitive as my lips just freaks me out. Not to mention, they’re crazy expensive for something you have to continue doing every few months. Will I ever get lip injections? Probably not, but I’m here to tell you my few tips and tricks to get those Kylie Jenner lips without the pain of the needle.
Ever heard of Juvalips? I hadn’t until about a month ago. Remember the Kylie Jenner challenge from last year? The extremely damaging challenge where teenagers were sucking their lips into bottles? Well, Juvalips is a safe and less extreme lip plumper with the same concept. You start by putting on some chapstick to help with suction, place the machine over your lips, and press the button. It lightly sucks in your lips for one minute leaving your pout a little plumper than when you started. Before I do my makeup, I use my Juvalips twice giving me that perfect pout. Y’all, I’m obsessed. When I first heard about it, I thought it was so dumb and that’s probably what you’re thinking right now. Trust me, this machine is amazing. It doesn’t hurt at all and leaves your lips looking plumper for up to 3 hours. I definitely recommend it.
I’m sure if you’re reading this, you’ve tried some form of lip plumping gloss. I’ve tried probably 20 different brands and my all time favorite is Soap & Glory’s XL Extreme Plump. While I personally don’t love the glossy look, there are some days I just want some extra pout and this stuff does it for me. It definitely tingles and burns, but it doesn’t hurt at all. It’s clear so it can be put on top of any lipstick you’re already wearing and still works. Best part, it’s a drug store product. You can get the Soap & Glory line at your local Target for only $12, compared to a $20+ high end brand that doesn’t work half as well.
